Blurred images, moved, in which the eye is lost lost in an attempt to focus its contents and nature.
Crazy chromes, exasperatedly lit and brilliant on one side, sadly atonic and flat on the other.
The blinding luminous strips, magically dashed by an unusual alteration of the passage of time, alternate with indefinite dark areas.
Time seems to slow down inexorably to the point of crystallizing, following the dark feelings of the artist and leaving the viewer exasperated, breathless in a disconcerting feeling of inner restlessness.
The images depicted are intangible, vibrant, almost ethereal portraits of reality. Such familiar scenarios and landscapes now appear confused, indefinite, barely recognizable, as if they gave birth to a dream that barely remembers when awakening.
But it is not a dream that we are witnessing, but its melancholy end.
It is the heartbreaking memory of a fantastic and very rare treasure that has suddenly been lost, leaving the soul misguided by a heinous pain and narrow eyes in an unbearable, interminable weeping that generates and feeds these confused and convulsive visions!
The artist guides us, through a journey to the edge of the reality of his emotions, in the places dearest and close to his soul and in those shared with his wonderful treasure, lost but still vibrant in memory, and shows us them as they come to him, painting the images thanks to a wise and original use of the photographic medium.
PS: The project is still being realized while waiting to be exhibited in a splendid exhibition.
Long exposures, from a few seconds up to 20-30. The camera almost always in hand, free to move, and more rarely anchored on the tripod, but also here free in the movements on the three axes.
Shots taken while walking or running, pirouette with nose up, moving the chamber on the stand or simply letting the world move during the shoot.
In front of the lens two or three optical filters: a circular polarizer, a graduated ND filter and a variable ND that, pushed to the extreme, introduces particular color alterations that amplify the desired perceptual dystorision of the images.
And then again, in front of the filters, very light fluttering veils of paper, sheets of cellophane of various thickness and opacity, and other objects that, moved with skill in front of the lens, create disturbances, reflections, stains and whatnot!
No Photoshop then, no effects and digital filters, but all made in an absolutely analog way and the post used only for basic adjustments and black and white viges!
